DRAMATIC FINAL QUALIFIER FOR FOUR NATIONS AT ASTBURY HALL

In difficult weather conditions over the superb Astbury Hall course, the English Final Qualifier of the 2011 Four Nations Golf Challenge, sponsored by Golf Plus Direct – ‘Golf Fees Made Easy’ , produced a dramatic conclusion on Monday, 5 th September.  

In near gale force winds, scoring was surprisingly good and the six pairs to represent the Team England in the 2011 Grand Final, finally emerged after a nail-biting ‘back-nine countback’! They will now compete against Ireland, Scotland and Wales at The Oxfordshire from 25 th to 28 th September, to determine the ‘Champion Nation of the Year’.

All of the competitors had nothing but praise for the Astbury Hall course – “pristine”, “beautiful”, “picturesque”, “challenging” and “best greens I’ve ever played on”, being just some of the comments. Astbury Hall is the first golf course designed by KK Downing , lead guitarist in Judas Priest and he has created true beauty in the heart of the Severn Valley.

The twelve players who will be representing England in the 2011 Grand Final are:

The Grand Final will be televised on Sky Sports with the following broadcast times:

1. 18th October - 17:00 on Sky Sports 4

2. 18th October - 20:00 on Sky Sports 3 (PRIME TIME)

3. 19th October - 01:30 on Sky Sports 3

4. 19th October - 11:30 on Sky Sports 2
